Better Half Productions ("BHP," "we," "us") is a wedding videography studio based in Lewiston, Maine, operating as a DBA of Unified Planet Productions LLC. These terms govern your use of this website and the services we provide. By using this site or booking with us, you agree to them. We keep this short and plain on purpose.

Using this website

• You may browse and use this site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
• All content on this site, including films, photos, text, and design, is owned by Better Half Productions or used with permission. Please do not copy, redistribute, or reuse it without our written consent.
• Do not use the site in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or disruptive to others.

Inquiries and booking

Submitting an inquiry or booking form does not reserve a date or create a booking. Your wedding is booked only once you sign our services agreement and pay the retainer.

The signed services agreement for your wedding, not this page, is the binding contract for your project. If anything here conflicts with that agreement, the signed agreement controls. Pricing and package details shown on this site may change, and the pricing in your signed agreement is what applies to your booking.

Payment and retainer

Bookings require a non-refundable retainer to reserve your date, with the balance due before the wedding as set out in your agreement. The retainer is non-refundable because reserving your date means we turn away other work for that day.

Cancellation and rescheduling

Cancellation and rescheduling terms are set out in your signed agreement. The retainer is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. We will always work with you in good faith on rescheduling where we reasonably can.

Films, delivery, and creative license

• We deliver a teaser within 48 hours and your full wedding film within four weeks of your wedding, unless your agreement states otherwise.
• Better Half Productions exercises creative and artistic judgment over the filming style, editing, music, and final form of your film.
• We retain the copyright to all footage and films we create. You receive a personal, non-exclusive license to view, download, and share your film for personal, non-commercial use.
• We may use excerpts of your film and stills for our portfolio, website, social media, and advertising, unless we agree otherwise with you in writing.

Text messages

If you opt in on one of our forms, you may receive text messages from Better Half Productions about your wedding video inquiry and booking. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

Archival of footage

Raw wedding footage is held in cold storage for twelve months after delivery, then deleted. Please back up your delivered film. We are not responsible for re-creating or re-delivering files after that period.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We provide our services with care and professionalism. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for that project.

We are not liable for failures or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including illness, equipment failure, venue restrictions, weather, or other emergencies. In those situations we will work with you in good faith on a remedy as described in your agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date above.
